The original artwork was a commissioned piece done on a 36"x48" gallery stretched primed canvas with acrylic and watercolors.
The Burro Lady of West Texas, the mystery everybody loved. Judy Magers was a mystery to many who happen to catch her riding along the side of the highway with her burro which carried an assortment of blankets, ropes, jackets, bags. A nomad of the West Texas area she seemed to be content with her life and sleeping under the stars and and surrounding herself with only the desert and her burro to keep her company. I loved this commission because of the mysterious, bleak and bizarre character of this woman, It was beautiful to me her sense of wonder and freedom in a way. Just her way of being brought her to become a public figure that left people in constant wonder about her.
